Peace through Yoga Eagle Creek
$15 per person or one class deduction from your Eagle Creek class set

A Vinyasa Flow Yoga class accompanied by live West African style Djembe drumming.  Join Lisa Daugherty for a unique experience of rhythm, movement and spirit.  Both yoga and drumming allow us access to the innermost parts of our being—our breath, our heartbeat, our intentions, our strengths and fears, our joys and our presence—for exploration and healing.  The vibrating resonance of the drum pulls the yoga practitioner deeper into the practice creating a connection to spirit and prana.  Yoga, combined with drumming can become a vehicle of integration, yoking the mundane aspects of daily life with the mysteries of vibration, resonance and oneness.  With the drumbeats, a thousand worlds of separation vanish…   No reservations required.

Monumental Yoga on the Circle at Noon on June 21

June 21, 2013, Noon

Download a printable flyer by clicking here.

Monument Circle will come alive with yogis – first timers and seasoned ones on Friday, June 21, 2013 from 12-1:30 p.m. to celebrate Indianapolis’ love for yoga and the Summer Solstice. The entire Circle will become one big yoga mat as local instructors lead a class of sun salutations.

New and advanced yogis are encouraged to participate. Instructors will be scattered around the circle to help with basic yoga postures. They will also be available to answer any questions and keep participants motivated to stretch. It’s a delightful event that promotes peace, tranquility, and healthy living.

Participants are encouraged to arrive early, stretch, warm up and find a comfortable spot on the circle for their yoga mat. Participants should bring their own mat and a water bottle, as there will be only a few loaner mats available. We encourage everyone to ride share, take the bus (routes 11, 5, 8, and 50 – the nearest bus shelters are on Ohio Street at Illinois, and Penn Eastbound and at Pennsylvania and Meridian Westbound), or ride a bike (bike parking will be available at the Bike Hub located on the east end of City Market, two blocks due east of the Circle).

This free event will be held rain or shine and is the perfect way to spend an afternoon lunch break.  Donations will be collected to benefit Growing Places Indy and Y12SR.

Come to Monument Circle in the heart of downtown June 21 if you have ever wanted to try yoga and would like to be part of a historic event in Indianapolis!  Breathe, find your center and enjoy time with friends.

Please register in advance at http://monumentalyoga.eventbrite.com.

Yoga helps children calm their minds and stretch their bodies.  It also increases their ability to concentrate and focus, as well as deal with stress.  The younger we can give our children tools to handle their emotions and exercise their bodies, the better able they will be in handling the fast paced, high pressure society they are growing up in!

Yoga benefits the mind, body and spirit, but it is also a lot of FUN!!  Kids will discover all four of these aspects in our monthly routines tailored just for them.  Each Kid’s Yoga Adventure is based on a theme and incorporates children’s literature, music, singing, science, games or rhymes, creating an atmosphere for imagination and learning while promoting a healthy body!   So enjoy the park once a month, while your kids enjoy this one-of-a-kind class!

*If  your child is especially shy or immature for their age, you may join the class to support them for an additional $5.
