Sailing, Yoga & Rejuvenations with Matece Skow

Beat the winter blues! Plan your escape now.

Sail away with our friend and partner, Matece Skow of Nourshing Heart Yoga, to a tropical paradise for yoga, meditation and rejuvenation.

Matece is teaming up with her good friends Tyler and Liz at Bow Havens for this adventure. She met them a few years ago when Tyler attended Matece’s one day retreat on St. Thomas. Immediate friends; they have spent many hours working together to create an experience that brings together the best of yoga, meditation and the soul-awakening natural beauty of the British Virgin Islands. It is a pure pleasure (and so much fun!) to cruise these magnificent islands and aqua waters with their expert guidance leading the way. Here is a little bit about them and this wonderful event:

At Bow Havens we combine our passion for sailing and our love for wellness and mindful living into unique Caribbean sailing retreats. With extensive sailing experience, our captains and crew are dedicated to providing an unforgettable week for guests and teachers alike. Trips include daily yoga classes, fresh locally sourced meals, island exploration, guided water activities and an intimate and mindful bonding experience.

Trip highlights

This retreat will consist of 1 boat, with 8 guests in total. We can accommodate more passengers, but find this magic range perfect for the sailing setting. Beach excursions and classes happen throughout the day and early evenings. Guests are taken by dinghy from the boats to shore, and at night the boats will raft up in serene protected harbors for meals, or anchor just a short distance offshore.

Each boat comes with several cabins for guests, including full or queen sized beds, closets, private bathrooms, and other amenities. There is a shared kitchen space, as well as outdoor areas for lounging, reading, connecting, and simply enjoying the island surroundings.

Each retreat sailboat comes with a personal chef. Meals are determined by the instructor but are usually pescatarian, vegetarian or vegan (with additional options for detox programs). We can handle any dietary restrictions, and ask guests to provide us with their dietary preferences before the trip. Guests are also welcomed to our “open kitchen policy” where they are invited to learn, share, and participate in all of the meals. We are happy to arrange additional amenities such as deep tissue/thai massage, reiki, dive instruction, paddleboarding, kiteboarding, water sports etc.. as an add-on to the price of the trip.

Tyler, our cofounder, grew up sailboat racing in the Virgin Islands and is a passionate sailing instructor at all levels. In addition to the optional sailing instruction, guests can take advantage of his local knowledge for some of the best coral reef snorkeling areas, beaches to swim with turtles, cliff jumping and nature hikes, and simply getting to understand this unique culture the local way.

Elizabeth, our second cofounder, is a yoga instructor in St Thomas, hailing from the North East. She has hand selected the yoga instruction venues for shade, comfort and aesthetic. These retreats are built by the same people who love to partake in them, so you can be assured a seamless and expansive week on board.

We are your retreat team!

We look forward to collaborating with you and creating an unforgettable retreat. Please feel free to call or email with any questions!
