Sally Brown, Ph.D. (Shakti) Named "Woman

of Adventure" by Indianapolis Star and Indianapolis

Woman magazine, Sally has always had

a passion for traveling and exercising.

As President of Ambassadair, the nation's

largest travel club, Sally traveled to over 120

countries where she enjoyed yoga in a variety

of settings including India. She has studied intensely

for the past several years and obtained her teacher's

training under Nancy Schalk. Sally has had the

fortunate opportunity to have been instructed by

Rodney Yee, Baron Baptiste, Angela Farmer, David

Swenson, Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, Alan Finger, Seane

Corn, T.K.V. and Kausthub Desikachar, and Beryl

Bender Birch.

 

Sally is the Founder and President of Ambassadors for

Children, a nonprofit charitable organization that offers

opportunities for global volunteerism. Yoga is something

she likes to integrate in the missions when she can for

children in third world countries as well as for the

volunteers. With a strong Christian faith, Sally likes to

see her class participants grow physically as well as

spiritually in their practice.  Sally earned her Ph.D.

from Purdue University in Hospitality, Tourism,

and Management.
