About our Teachers



Sally Brown Bassett, Ph.D. (Shakti) 

      Dr. Sally Brown has been studying yoga for over a decade and opened her own studio, Peace through Yoga, in 2003.  Sally teaches a variety of styles ranging from gentle Kripalu and Yoga Therapy to a Power Vinyasa.  She has had the fortunate opportunity to have been instructed by some of the world's top teachers.  Sally has expanded yoga as an outreach into corporations, schools, and hospitals. 

     Sally leads annual yoga and meditation retreats to destinations like Costa Rica, France, Peru and India, mixed with adventure and/or humanitarian service.  She has traveled to over 130 countries and enjoys teaching yoga to children as she travels around the world.  Click here for more information.

Lorissa Byely

      Lorissa’s love of dance and fascination with movement led her to the practice of yoga which she believes is a practice of self‑exploration and self‑acceptance.  In her classes, Lorissa encourages each student to honor their unique body wisdom and experience.  She teaches various styles of yoga, including Kripalu and vinyasa flow, but all with a focus on conscious coordination of breath with movement, alignment, and inner focus.  Her intention is to create a safe space for relaxation, healing, and joyful movement.  She feels it is an honor to share the journey of yoga with her students.
      Lorissa has had the privilege to study with Pattabhi Jois, Beryl Bender Birch, Don Stapleton, Amba Stapleton, Rolf Gates, Kofi Busia and many other light‑filled souls.  She also teach Pilates which has greatly enhanced her understanding of alignment, posture, and body mechanics.  Lorissa is a registered with the Yoga Alliance at the 200 hour level.

Diane Hancock

     Diane Hancock (Hari Datti Kaur) is fascinated with the technology of Kundalini Yoga, which uplifts the mind and emotions, balances the chakras, in addition to strengthening the physical body and reducing stress.  Her personal experience of the enormous benefits from Kundalini yoga compelled her to share this practice with others.  The following teachers were instrumental in her decision to follow a teacher’s path: Mahan Kalpa Singh, Shakta Kaur, Gurucharan Singh Khalsa, Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, Ana Forrest, and Stephen Cope.   Diane began teaching in 2004, after training at 3HO’s Level I intensive.  She is continuing her Level II studies.

Elizabeth Houdek

      Elizabeth (Mangala Charan Kaur) is a registered yoga teacher certified by both the Kundalini Research Institute and the American Yoga Alliance to teach at the 200-hour level.  Elizabeth received her training from Shabad Kaur and Shiva Singh Khalsa at Spirit Rising Yoga in Chicago and is excited to share Kundalini yoga and meditation with her native community in Indianapolis.

Patrick Kinsman

      Patrick Kinsman came to yoga from rock climbing.  He discovered Ashtanga yoga in Bloomington in the summer of 2004 and has never looked back.  In May 2007 Patrick undertook teacher training at It's Yoga in San Francisco and has been teaching classes around Indianapolis since July 2007.  Patrick teaches both classical and modified Ashtanga yoga, the "Rocket" series, and creative vinyasa classes.
      Patrick enjoys teaching inversions and other challenging poses, and thanks many teachers who have helped to develop his yoga practice, including Debby Harris, Wendy Gleckler, Clayton Horton, Matthew Sweeney and Kate O'Donnell.

Kelly Langston

     Kelly Langston is a Corporate Trainer who is also a certified Laughter Yoga Leader and certified Reiki Master. Kelly has integrated Laughter Yoga into all aspects of her training and healing practices, and has customized Laughter Yoga for a variety of venues including: hospitals and medical settings, residential eldercare communities, in the workplace for stress reduction and team building, yoga studios, professional conferences, retreats and private celebrations.  The natural gift of laughter is part of an integrative healing system which allows the body to self renew, while awakening the joyful spiritual and human potential from within.

Tish Ratcliff

     Tish Ratcliff is a yoga teacher and a meditation writer whose classes are geared toward those who are just discovering yoga, and those who are interested in classes that focus on stress relief and healing. She is a graduate of the Cityoga teacher training program in Indianapolis, where she continues to pursue her yoga education at the 500-hour level.  Find more information here.

Cassie Stockamp

Cassie Stockamp is a dynamic and enthusiastic Vinyasa teacher who was trained under Nancy Schalk of Heartland Yoga in Indiana.  She has enjoyed studying with Seane Corn (Vinyasa), Gurmukh (Kundalini), Brian Kest (Ashtanga), and also with many teachers while at the International Yoga Festival in Rishikesh, India.
     Cassie enjoys teaching a flowing and athletic form of yoga to help build strength and to improve balance and flexibility.  She brings to the mat a Buddhist understanding of how to balance business and life pressures with mindfulness and has spent retreat time with Tich Nhat Hanh’s teachings in Colorado.

Amanda Stover

Amanda Stover has an extensive ballet and modern dance background as a performer and teacher. She holds a BFA in dance from Marymount Manhattan College and an MA in dance ethnology from Hofstra University. Amanda was initially drawn to yoga for its physical benefits and quickly found that she had better balance, and was calmer when performing onstage. Coming from the highly competitive and physically discriminating world of classical dance to the non-judgmental and accepting realm of yoga has become one of the most significant transitions in her life. It is with this open-mindedness that Amanda teaches her classes to people of all ages, shapes and abilities.  She received her 200 hour yoga teacher certification in 2002 from Frog Lotus Yoga in North Adams, Massachusetts. She is continuing her studies for her 500 hour certification.

Keema Walden, Ph.D.  

      Dr. Keema Walden has a Kripalu/Vinyasa Yoga teaching style, so students are given the option to explore and show compassion for themselves through flowing asanas (postures), pranayama (breath work), meditation (awareness), and deep relaxation.  She is a Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher.  Yoga has been her passion since 1997 and she has loved teaching since 1998.  She is also a practitioner of Reiki (Usui and Kundalini), SomaEnergetics Tuning Forks, Integrated Energy Therapy, Healing Touch, and Diksha (Pure Light Blessings). 
      While she has been self taught for most of her Yoga career, she has been blessed to train under Lynda Mitchell, Judith Lasater, Rashmi Sue Jenkins, Randall Williams, and Stephen Cope.  She enjoys teaching students of all ages, body types, and fitness levels.  She teaches with beginners in mind, so there is no need to be shy.  As Keema continues to grow as a Holistic Health Practitioner, she invites you to come and share this journey with her.  Click here for more information.

Christine Yovanovich BA, ERYT

     Christine Yovanovich began her journey with yoga in 2002 after dealing with chronic fatigue and joint pains during the prior 6 years. She decided to practice breath work and meditation for pain control.  Eventually, she was able to practice the asanas/poses.  After discovering the healing effects of yoga, she decided to retire in her previously stressful job and dedicated her life to sharing with others the healing aspects of yoga.
     Christine began studying Kriya yoga in 2005 at The Self Realization Fellowship located in Los Angeles, California.  She is Kriyaban-eligible.  She received her 200 hr. yoga teacher certification in 2005 at Cityoga located in Indianapolis, Indiana.  She continues her studies for her 500 hr. certification.  She is registered through Yoga Alliance and Indiana Yoga Association.  She has been blessed to work with many seasoned and prominent teachers of yoga some of which include, Jyoti Hansen, Todd Norian, Desiree Rambaugh, Ramaswami, David Swenson, Marsha Pappas, Nikki Myers, and Sean Corn.  The styles of yoga most studied thus far include Kriya, Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Anusara yoga, which are all Hatha-based.
     Christine is most grateful to her teachers for passing on this ancient and healing art and especially to her family for their love and encouragement.

 Michael Fischer and Eva Earley

     Michael has been studying and teaching movement therapies for 13 years.  Eva has been a student of Viniyoga and Gary Kraftsow since 1989.  She has been a chiropractor for 23 years, and is also a certified craniosacral therapist.
